Pictures: Rodmobile is a concept to enable electric car fundamentals for everyone. The electric car consists of a combined platform of movement and energy. Movement equals with automotive details and energy equals with a systemic solution of power supply on (specified) demand.

RodMobile is an active drivers car, it has all digitalization and electronics for wayfinding and smooth acceleration, it has a generic platform with a catalogue of car parts for tuning and certified DIY customization. RodMobile is also a platform to build any car model from hatchback to coupé and van. RodMobile is the “AppStore of the car, because millions of car developers can create their own car on certified and approved electric car platform, car parts and own 3D printed details.

Rodmobile is a smooth and dynamic concept to solve the Concept 26, the 26 minutes dilemma. Volvos solution for 26 minutes duration of the average daily commute is basically clever, but doesn´t scale to the billions of a´car drivers. “It’s all about people.

Volvo Vice President of Interior Design Robin Page says: “Our research clearly shows that some people will want to use their commuting time creatively when they have full autonomous drive available, while others will want to just sit back and relax, watch online media or listen to music.” The dilemma is in the creatively part and in the just sit back and relax: You dont create in the average 26 minutes on the road, and you dont relax during the 26 minutes in a car.

RodMobile is created in Trondheim Norway by Finnish startup RodMobile and the NTNU (Norwegian University of Science and Technology). NTNU is the largest university in Scandinavia with 40 000 students.
